A Movement Guide for Book Lovers

  • Pawling Yoga and Wellness 26 E Main St Suite 2, Pawling, NY 12564 (map)

This is a workshop to help us nourish our bodies with movement,  while simultaneously nourishing our minds with the books we love.

Reading is considered a sedentary activity, and unfortunately, sedentarism is both on the rise in modern culture while also being linked to numerous adverse health conditions (Note recent headlines declaring “Sitting is the new smoking!”)

Do you love to read but also struggle to get enough movement/exercise into your daily life?

Do you end up feeling stiff, achy and sore after reading but assume that's the price of enjoying a good book?

Do you want to break the rule that “bookish” people can’t be athletes and vice versa?

In this workshop with Movement and Life coach, Patrick Hogan, we’ll explore:

  • How movement matters - even more than exercise!

  • What postural adjustments will keep your body moving freely even when we’re sitting for prolonged periods of time.

  • How to incorporate body nourishing movement into our reading times.

  • How creatively re-thinking our position in any daily activity can help our bodies move better and feel better!
