We need to ask why?

There's a lot of things I do that seem weird...

There're no chairs in my home, I sleep on the floor, I don't rely on the gym for exercise, I walk barefoot everywhere... Even when I do work my body, to the outside observer, many of the things I do simply look like a kid playing on the playground (does that count as exercise??) or it might look like I'm not doing much at all with tiny shifts in posture and movements of small joints...

But!

there's a method to the madness

Have you ever seen someone on the street and thought, "that's super weird." or "I could never do that!" only to learn about it later- the reasons, the methods, and all of a sudden, it's no longer weird or impossible, but totally rational and you can see yourself possibly adopting that habit or behavior...

I believe we are so accustomed to modern culture, that it's as if we're blindfolded from seeing the things that would be healthier and happier for us - and when we do see them, they look foreign and weird or impossible.

One of the things I aspire to do with my clients is help you to discover where you may be holding on to habits, behaviors, and values that are actually holding you back from feeling good, moving well, and pursuing your goals, and then to realign to movement practices and lifestyle shifts that are attuned to your individual true nature.

And sometimes a major step in that path is to help clients understand the "why" and the method for moving better or acting "weird".

I know, personally, that when a trainer, coach, or therapist tells me to do something but I haven't really understood why, I will try it on, but my motivation to keep it up and make it something that's part of my life is MUCH LOWER than if we really took the time to arrive at a deeper understanding.

That's why I was taken aback and also pleased to get a comment from a Facebook friend to my post where I was talking about an upcoming barefoot challenge I was embarking upon.

"Why barefoot?"

Of course! Why indeed! Here's my reply below and in light of that if there's anything you're wondering about regarding the movement health of your body or developing the mindset for creating the lifestyle that's aligned to your nature, consider coming to the next Zoom conversation to ask me anything, or book a free Alignment Wayfinding session

All the best in exploring with curiosity and openness to the weirdness of life.
