Evolving Toward a New Way..

Since my coaching journey started in 2009, I’ve been committed to helping people move better and feel better in their bodies. As I gained more and more experience, it became clear how closely tied the relationship is between our physicality and our lives as a whole - not only in terms of our ability to use our bodies to engage with life, but also in terms of how our physical selves and our mental-spiritual-social selves are often mirrors of each other.

I have become invested in the concept that all parts of us function better when in integrity (meaning whole and together) - or another phrase might be “in alignment”. It seems that many of our stressful issues stem from a cultural tendency to disconnect from ourselves… that includes disconnection from how the parts of our body relate to each other, how our minds relate to our bodies, how we try to fit into society in spite of our deeper yearnings, and finally how we interact with the natural environment.

So, my mission with “In Aligned Movement” has grown to be: helping people root into their essential selves, and using that as a compass to develop both healthier bodies and joy enhancing ways of living.

Overall, my hope is if we develop the movement rich lifestyles that bolster our true natures on the individual level, we will also foster a new culture that is supportive and protective of the Earth as a whole.

I started with Yoga and the physical practices to develop more flexibility, relaxation, and a  calm, focused mind.
My practice evolved with certifications in Mov Nat to incorporate Natural Movement skills that put real-life, mindful movements into context - For me, it’s these skills that build the confidence to navigate the natural world with playfulness and ease.
I became a Restorative Exercise Specialist with Katy Bowman’s Nutritious Movement Institute to understand our body’s natural design and how to undo poor movement patterns caused by a sedentary culture, so that I and my clients could move better and feel better in our everyday lives.
I earned my life coach certification with Martha Beck’s Wayfinder Life Coach Training to better help people overcome mental blocks and limiting patterns that hold them back from achieving the life they yearn for and to better navigate change.

It’s encouraging to hear when clients resolve body issues like back, knee or foot pain.
It’s even more rewarding to see clients gaining skills and confidence in the activities they love such as hiking or running.
I’m inspired by clients who discover new paths for pursuing their goals while expressing more joy in the process.
And I’m particularly in awe when clients learn how to work with their body to gain insights about life and also realize their approach to life can inform the experience of their body.

Upon reflection, I’m called to evolve once more…

Working with the body and working on issues of our lives are both more effective and more satisfying when merged together. Also, true progress and depth in the work can only really happen through longer commitments to the journey.

That’s why I’m making the shift to combine life and movement coaching through longer term programs and containers.

What this means specifically is:

I’m phasing out both the single session drop-in movement classes and the single session coaching appointments.

The main focus of my coaching will now be offered through 1:1 sessions over a 3 month container.

This is called The Roots of an Aligned Life, and aims to help you build the foundations that bring your body, mind, and lifestyle into alignment with the values, goals, and aspirations you have.

What this container offers you is:

  • A more focused experience tailored to the shifts and changes you're seeking.

  • A holistic approach to coaching that seeks to help you bring your mind, body and lifestyle all into alignment with the vision you for hold for your life.

  • 2 private sessions per week - 1 dedicated to movement and 1 focused on life coaching

  • Skills, tools, habits, and support for lasting change

  • The mindset for navigating an ever changing world

  • Access to the other resources through my website such as classes and courses

For those looking solely for movement classes, I’m introducing the Aligned Movement Membership.

I recommend this option for those who have already gone through some work with me.

This membership involves a 3 month commitment and includes access to multiple classes per week, access to a library of pre-recorded classes as well as monthly group zoom meetings to discuss any movement related issues.

So, what do you do now?
